While out on the prowl, Huntress (Ashlea Scott) takes on a meta-human mugger with the ability to spit acid. However, after a quick and easy fight, the meta-human dies with a wound matching his acidic power. Was his death related to using his power or is there something more sinister at work?

Meanwhile, in the New Gotham Police Department (NGPD) Det. Reese (Shemar Moore) is paid a visit by another cop, Det. Morton (Joe Flannigan) who has a thing for "screamingly weird" cases. The case he is interested in is the meta-human Helena dealt with and he believes they are looking at the work of a serial killer who likes to use bizarre methods to kill his victims. Morton is partnered with Reese to investigate and the two leave for the scene of the crime.

After leaving NGPD, Huntress drops in on Reese hoping to share info on the case. Naturally, Reese won't share anything until he knows her name, forcing Helena to vanish into the night.

Back at the clock tower, Oracle (Dina Meyer) works to find out anything on power duplication but is unable to find anything on the Delphi Database. She suggests Helena pays a visit to No Man's Land in order to find out something. Reluctantly, she agrees. Dinah (Rachel Skarsten) wants to go, but Barbara tells her not on a school night.

The next day at school, hoping to make a fresh start in a new town, Dinah puts her foot in her mouth whilst introducing herself to her new class leading her to believe she will have no friends. Wade Brixton (Shawn Christian) comes to visit Barbara in her classroom where he asks her out to dinner with his parents. Afraid they won't accept her, Barbara tries to cancel but Wade is able to convince her to come.

While out on the beat, Morton quizzes Reese about the mysteries of New Gotham. Morton refers to the meta-humans as creatures and offers to make sense of everything Reese has seen. In the middle of the conversation however, a man walks past and Morton suddenly gets a headache and leaves to go home. After leaving Reese though, Morton follows the man who past them in the street - he is a janitor working in a renovated building. The janitor tells Morton he isn't supposed to be in the building and Morton's headache quickly returns. He tells him he wants him because of what he is and the pounding gets worse every second. Moments later, the janitor forms a fireball in his hand and throws it at Morton. He dodges, and then forms a fireball of his own and incinerates the meta-human janitor.

Elsewhere in New Gotham, Helena visits No Mans Land Collectables, the hub of the meta-human community in the city. She speaks with Gibson (Robert Patrick Benedict), a meta-human who remembers every sight, sound, taste, touch and smell since birth. He offers to buy her a drink, and when he twists the head of a statue a hidden door opens leading the way to a bar filled with meta-humans. The bartender, Frosty (Josh Waters), has the ability to freeze and uses his power to keep drinks extra chilled. Inside, they talk business but Gibson doesn't know anything and says that its impossible for one meta to have the same ability as another. As she tries to leave, Gibson plays the guilt card and convinces Helena to stay for a few drinks.

In New Gotham High School, Dinah tries to make friends in the cafeteria but is dubbed zipper-girl (because she came from the town that inventied the zip) so tries to slip out unnoticed. One of the girls however spots her making her exit.

As she leaves No Man's Land, Helena catches Dinah entering the bar instead of being at school. She tells Helena she skipped school because she wasn't fitting in and she wants to be a superhero when she grows up...you don't need to know algebra to be a superhero.

That night at NGPD, Morton tells Reese about the meta-humans and explains their abilities in a way he can understand. He says they are dangerous and should not be trusted. He goes on to tell Reese about a vigilante that used to fight crime a generation ago dressed as a bat. Because of the Batman, the meta-humans flocked to New Gotham to battle the Caped Crusader but when he vanished, some of the meta's settled down and had families. The meta-human population grew and mixed with humans created a secret subculture throughout the city. Disturbed, Reese tells Morton that he might know a meta-human...a woman who he caught standing over a dead body and who now shows up looking for information...Huntress!

Later that night, Morton kills another meta-human - Frosty! He calls Reese to the scene to investigate, but begins developing a headache indicating a meta is nearby. He tries to dull the pain with aspirin but his bottle is empty so Reese gos back to the car to get some more. He is just about to return to the scene when Huntress makes an appearance. She is shocked to find out it is Frosty, and after mentioning that he must have been killed with his own power Reese realises everything Morton told him is true. He asks if Huntress is one of those "meta-things"...if she is normal. Huntress gets upset and leaves.

On the roof however, she bumps into Morton, who tells her it was him who told Reese all about the meta-humans. He takes on her abilities and the two fight. The police rush to the scene and Huntress forced Morton onto the road where he is hit by a police car. Helena vanishes back into the shadows and Morton's eyes return to normal.

The next morning in the clock tower, Helena tells Barbara about Morton. She also explains she called Reese to warn him but he didn't believe her. Oracle uses the computer to learn that Morton's powers have a range of about 20 yards. Annoyed that she can't beat the crap out of him without him mirroring her powers, Helena tries to storm off, but Barbara manages to calm her down a little by telling her about her dinner with wade's parents - they don't like her because she is in a wheel chair.

Dinah shows up in No Man's Land and chats with Gibson, who is excited that Dinah is friends with "the delectable Huntress". He buys her a drink and they play pool, but all the fun stops when the service elevator opens and Barbara wheels out.

In downtown New Gotham, Reese and Morton argue about the metas. Morton thinks that the only reason Huntress saved Reese's life was to get a cop in her pocket. Morton gets another headache and Helena drops down from above. She rushes Morton, and eventually pins him against the wall. Reese pulls his gun on her, calling Huntress a creature. She lets Morton go and challenges Reese, who refuses to shoot her. Moments later, Morton jumps to his feet using Helena's powers and shoots Reese. Huntress takes off and Morton follows her. She contacts Oracle using comms who sends help for Reese. Helena tells Oracle she can't beat Morton, and he can't beat her...but they can go down together.

On the roof of a building, Helena and Morton go head to head. The reason Morton is trying to kill the metas is because he is one. If he can kill them all, then he won't mirror anyone’s powers and the headaches will disappear...he will be normal again. He'll be free. As the fight goes on, eventually Morton's headache gets worse and worse. Then from out of nowhere, Dinah arrives with every meta-human from No Man's Land. Eventually the pain gets so bad he can't even stand. Huntress wants to kill him, but Oracle is able to talk her out of it, but Morton uses the opportunity to escape...by jumping off of the skyscraper without any meta-human abilities.

Waking up in the hospital, Reese finds Huntress sitting in his room. She explains to him what happened and tells him the truth about the meta-humans...some are good, some are bad. And the reason there are so many meta-human criminals in New Gotham is because there are a lot of criminals in the city anyway. Reese says he didn't think she would kill him, but thought she would at least beat him to a bloody pulp. He also asks Huntress for her name, but she refuses because when they met he asked her who she was...but last night he asked what she was. Before leaving, she does say that he has to earn her name.

On the roof of the clock tower, Helena, Barbara and Dinah reminisce on the events of the last few days before heading to No Man's Land to unwind.
