In the dark streets of New Gotham, Detective Reese (Shemar Moore) activates the bat ring that Helena (Ashlea Scott) gave him after he helped her take on Al Hawke. Moments later, she drops down from above. Reese is surprised that she arrived so quickly and goes on to talk about taking their relationship to the next level to see if they are compatible...just some no strings fun. Huntress says she's up for it, but there are a lot of things that he doesn't know about her.

Later that night, a biker gang wearing animal masks burst into a club and rob everyone in the building, taking their wallets, purses, watches and jewellery. The bar tender pulls out a shot gun and the woman wearing the cat mask leaps across the bar and knocks him out, taking the gun. As the gang speeds out of the club, she takes off her mask...its Helena!

At the New Gotham Police Department (NGPD), Huntress appears as Reese is getting into his car. He shows her some surveillance camera pictures showing the robbery at the club. He asks if she's enjoying herself running around terrorising people. Huntress however says that she's only getting into character...that’s why he asked her to go undercover. Helena gives him the next target and they set up a bust to catch the gang.

That day at school, Wade Brixton (Shawn Christian) brings Barbara (Dina Meyer) some coffee and the two joke around about dating. Barbara tells him she'd rather stay friends but Wade again makes a joke, saying that she's way cuter than his other friends. Feeling a little better, Barbara agrees to continue seeing him if they can take it slow. The two end up sleeping together.

After breakfast, Barbara talks with Helena about her 'encounter' with Wade. Barbara asks her to keep her voice down because Alfred (Ian Abercrombie) is around, but Helena says Alfred has heard of sex so its okay. Barbara feels she branching off into a new phase in her relationship with Mr Brixton, just like she is with Reese. Helena fills Helena and Dinah (Rachel Skarsten) in on the plan to stop the gang. Barbara tells Dinah that she doesn't need to get involved with the crime fighting, but she says the Black Canary died...not her mother. To her, she lost Caroline Lance when she was six.

The next night, Helena meets up with the biker gang who offer her a celebration for making the paper. The leader of the gang, Mick Winters (Shane Johnston), gives 'Cat' a motorcycle of her very own and invites her on their next job. Wolf (Sarah Brown) however is jealous because of the chemistry between Winters and Cat, but agrees to let the newcomer join them.

At the next target, a fancy restaurant in down town New Gotham, Reese sits eating dinner while his partner, Detective McNally (Brent Sexton) coordinates the surveillance from the van parked nearby. Just as Reese wonders if the gang will show up, they burst in the door and again start robbing everyone. Wolf has a jammer that is cutting off all electronic signals, including the comms device Reese is using. Before the bust can get any worse, Reese pulls out his gun but Helena knocks him out before he can get involved.

The next morning, Barbara works to train Dinah but feels that the hero-in-training is using her grief to lash out instead of training as she's supposed to be. Dinah denies this is what’s happening and runs off to look through the Delphi system. Alfred talks with Barbara about Dinah and the case Helena is working on. He says that a vigilante and the police never have an easy time...the same was true for Batman and Barbara's father, Commissioner Gordon. He worries however that Helena will be attracted to the lawlessness of the gang just as Bruce Wayne was to the lawlessness of Selina Kyle.

At the gang's headquarters, Helena plays strip poker and has the entire gang down to their underwear. Winters leaves to drop off their earnings to the boss. Huntress tries to get a shot at meeting the man in charge, but Winters says that not even Wolf has come with him on a meeting.

In reality, their boss isn't a man...its Doctor Harleen Quinzell (Mia Sara). He pays her everything they've ripped off and she talks about using the money to buy weapons of mass destruction to help her take over. Winters tells her about their new member and Harley Quinn says she wants to meet her...when the time is right that is.

Elsewhere, Reese and McNally talk about the failed bust and his mysterious source as they watch the gang from a distance. McNally leaves for coffee, and Huntress shows up to tell the Detective that Winters isn’t the top dog. Helena plans to leave the gang to work and instead go after the big cheese. Reese however would rather take out the animal gang before anyone else gets hurt. He asks for the next target, but Helena says they're planning on lying low for a while, then disappears into the night.

When she gets home, Helena makes so much noise that she wakes Barbara, and tells her about the big boss. Oracle thinks that their boss might be the same woman who they've been looking for. She explains that she didn't tell Reese about their next target to give her a chance to identify the woman at the top. Barbara begins to wonder if Helena might be getting too involved with the Animals.

At their lair, Wolf arrives with a bag full of munchies, telling Winters that when she was at the store she saw a "dumpy guy" in a cheap suit buying coffee and donuts. Suspicious, she followed him and found the police surveillance van that Reese and McNally were using. Winters tells her to welcome to cops into the gang, but to keep it quiet and don't tell the others. At the van, McNally challenges the trustworthiness of Reese's source, and he in turn says he trusts her. McNally has a hard time accepting the fact that his snitch is a woman, so McNally heads off to buy some coffee. Moments later, a call comes over the radio that the Animals have hit another target. As he runs back to the van, it explodes with McNally still inside.

As Helena arrives in the Clock Tower, expecting to be lectured by Barbara about getting too involved with Winters and his thugs. But instead, Barbara tells her about the explosion. Helena's immediately thinks that something happened to Reese, but Oracle says he's fine but his partner is in the intensive care unit at New Gotham General Hospital.

Outside the hospital, Helena tries to apologise but Reese says its her fault that McNally is hanging on by a thread. She promises that she'll stop the Animals, but Reese says that he's going it alone now and gives her back the bat ring - he'll stop the Animals himself...and if Helena is with them then so be it.

Back in the Clock Tower, Dinah shouts at Helena, telling her that if she's going after the Animals then so is she. That night, Huntress arrives at the Animal lair and says she wants to go all in and meet the boss. Winters agrees because the boss wants to meet her and then kisses her, causing Wolf to get agitated. Helena's cat eyes flare because of the passion and then she leaves to coordinate with Barbara and Dinah. After a small outburst from Dinah about dealing with loss, the team head out to do their job.

Huntress heads into the lair with Dinah watching in the van, relying everything to Oracle. Once inside however, Huntress finds Reese badly beaten and chained up. She cries out Reese's name and Winters zaps her. Dinah wants to go in, but Oracle warns her to stay back and let Huntress do what she went there to do. However, Dinah is worried that she'll never come out again...just like her mother.

Winters beats Helena a little, and tells her that Wolf saw the two of them at the hospital. Reese and Helena argue about their plan to stop the Animals. As he starts zapping Reese and Helena with a tazer, Dinah quietly sneaks in, knocking off the thugs one at a time. Helena also fights back, freeing herself. As Wolf tries to run, Dinah kicks in the door and knocks her out. Winters runs, and Reese goes after him and ends up with a gun pointed at Winters head. He wants to blow his head off for what he did to McNally, but Huntress goes after him and tries to convince him not to pull the trigger. Winters heckles him, trying to get him to pull the trigger. But when he says that Huntress is just some "stupid bitch", he pistol whips him. When the police sirens start wailing, Huntress and Dinah slip away without Reese noticing. When he looks around, he finds the bat ring sitting on a ledge for him.

The next day at Dr. Quinzell's office, Helena talks about Reese, explaining to the therapist that they finally worked things out. Quinzell says Helena shouldn't worry about other people because she'll always have her to come to. At New Gotham High School, Wade comes to see Barbara and finds the flowers he gave her sitting on her desk. Barbara apologies for the way she acted with him and the two make up.

On the roof of the Clock Tower, Helena looks at her cat mask and her mothers Catwoman one. She tells Dinah that part of the rush of crime was like getting to know her mother again...especially the side of her she didn't know. Helena goes on to say that Black Canary loved Dinah so much that she gave her life for her. Dinah gets upset because she didn't even know her mother when she was snatched from her. Helena gives her a hug to let her know she understands and that in time she will be able to forgive her mother.
