Although
credited, Ron Rifkin does not appear in this episode except
from flashbacks.
Jennifer Garner, Michael Vartan and Victor Garber

Alias to-date.
Quentin Tarantino makes an uncredited voice appearance
in this episode.
Originally, the story for this episode was
supposed to be told over several episodes but due to pressure
from the
ABC network,
the writers were forced to wrap it up early in a single
episode.
The dialogue for this episode was filmed in blocks
of 10 pages.
The villa Syd meets Kendall in is part of the Hyperion
Bungalo on the Disney lot. It is used inb several
scenes on Alias.
The external shot for Vaughn's apartment is actually
just a single wall on the Disney movie lot.
The
Rome shots were actually filmed in Hollywood.
The cave sequence
was filmed in the same caves as the fight with Anna Espinosa
in season one.
It was
also
re-used in
the same
episode as Sydney and Co skydive into Patagonia.
Jennifer
Garner protested to the storyline of using Rambaldi's DNA to
fertilise her eggs.
As
she filmed
the revelation
scene, she wasn't convinced it would work.
The same storyline was also laughed at by a great deal of the
shows fans.
The
fertilisation scene was filmed in Saint Viviana Cathedral which
is in downtown L.A.
The Cathedral
was closed due
to earthquake damage.
The location
for the hospital at the end is actually the back of the soundstage
and Lauren
is actually
sniping from
the roof
of the ABC building.
