After a deadly bomb blast killing several people, the CIA take the bombs builder, Daniel Ryan (Special Guest Star Rickey Gervais) into custody and perform an elaborate hoax to convince him that they are in fact part of a Covenantcell. Ryan however, refuses to cooperate until he speaks with Sark. Vaughn poses as Sark to gain the intel required, but eventually they need to bring the real Sark into the equation. When Dixon's children are kidnapped by The Covenant, he relieves himself of Director and assigns Jack the role of command until the crisis is over. Secretly however, he works with Sydney to gain access to all the Rambaldi artifacts acquired by the DSR in Operation: Blackhole in order to trade 'Lot 45' for his daughter.
